I tried 3 or 4 different espresso makers until stumbling upon Tchibo. It is exactly what I wanted. Simple to use, easy to clean and produces outstanding espresso AND coffee. I even got to visit some Tchibo stores during a recent trip to Austria and Germany. This solidified my decision due to the quality of the employees and the breadth of their product offerings. The best cup of coffee!
I was looking forward a coffeemaker that went from bean to cup without plastic K-cups. The consensus was Tchibo - yes, pricey, but it makes the best cup of coffee ever! Worth every dollar. And, my used coffee grounds help my acid loving azeleas outside. Now I am experimenting with brands of coffee and roasting styles. Go for it if you are in doubt!

So Happy My Tchibo
I previously owned a bean to brew single cup machine of a different brand. It was temperamental and took a lot of cleaning maintenance. Finally I took the Tchibo plunge and couldn't be happier. Like many previous reviewers, my water tank is under shelving/cabinets, but I added mini caster wheels to the base and now it glides out effortlessly. The boost button is fantastic as it allows me to make my coffee a little bit stronger. And the detachable cup base is stable enough to hold my large, 16 oz mug. Because the coffee grounds gather as pods in a container, there is no need to clean up after every use. The machine will let you know when they need to be dumped. Everything is simple and the quality is stellar.

Excellent espressos
My wife loved the convenience of a Nespresso Virtuo machine, but I never liked the taste of the coffee coming out of those pods. It just never tasted like espresso from a real machine to me. My son has deep experience in coffee - he was a buyer for several firms and traveled extensively throughout central and South American as well as Ethiopia and Rwanda. He put me onto the Tchibo machine and I bought one after Christmas. I got it directly from Tchibo and fired it up the day it arrived. The first espresso was meh..... I didn't know about adjusting the grind or hitting that + button. But now I do and both my wife and I love it to bits. I've made regular coffee in it to a lesser satisfaction level - it still comes out a bit weak, but 98% of the time, we're hitting that side button to turn on the machine for espresso and we're not disappointed. Nits: The machine really doesn't have a lot of tolerance for grounds in the dump bin at the bottom. It seems to whine about the tiniest bit of spent grounds. It also threw a fit once and displayed an exclamation mark and refused to move on until I unplugged it, change out the used grounds, cleaned out the already clean brewing unit and emptying and then refilling the coffee hopper. It finally figured it had punished me enough and made an espresso for my wife.

That customization is what makes a bean-to-cup machine so special. For regular coffee, if you find it a bit weak, you might try adjusting the grind to a finer setting, using the boost function button or using a darker roast for a stronger brew. Regarding the spent grounds bin, the machine tracks the number of pucks dispensed and will alert you every 10 brews to empty it. However, if you remove the grounds bin while the machine is turned off, it won’t reset the counter, which can cause the machine to signal it’s full even when it’s empty. To avoid this, always empty the bin while the machine is powered on so it registers the removal. We truly appreciate your feedback and are happy to have you as part of the Tchibo family!
